Bluebell Lakes was established 14 years ago, opening in 1994, it has become one of, if not the very best big fish day ticket waters in the country. We believe that Bluebell Lakes is the also the only fishery in the country with two 60lb fish, ‘Benson’ and ‘The Creature’ with several back up fish from 40lb to high 50lband a massive number or carp for 20lb to 30lb.

Big carp is what Bluebell Lakes is famous for, but that’s not to say that there aren’t other species worth fishing with huge pike recorded at 41lb, beautiful bream, tench, chub, perch and roach. There are six lakes to choose from, two big fish waters ‘Kingfisher and ‘Swan’, two mixed fish water ‘Bluebell’ and ‘Sandmartin’, one dedicated carp runs water ‘Mallard’ and a small fish coarse pool ‘Wood Pool’. We also have a magnificent 2 mile stretch of the ‘River Nene’. All in all its top quality so come and visit us.

SWAN LAKE
When the "Creature" was banked at 60lb and when Swan Lake all but matched the returns of Kingfisher Lake as it occurred in Spring 2007, much about this water changed. It changed from being a water producing a few big fish to a venue where anglers knew big carp would show and in numbers. A new approach to the water was required, and that approach was to work hard - put the hours in - learn the water and catch carp to 60lb, and if you didnt catch big carp to 60lb, then big cats were always on the cards.
It continues to earn the respect of big fish anglers and has the ability and stock to produee as well if not better than Kingfisher. Of course smaller fish are removed to maintaine such big fish and if you catch a fish under 20lb consider yourself unlucky. Watch for named fish "Dave" and "The Z Fish" to go over 50lb this season. As for the "Creature" it's bigger framed than "Benson, has more room and less competition. Watch This Space.

BLUEBELL LAKE
Our busiest water - probably. Trying to work out why Bluebell is so popular is difficult. Lots of regulars simply love this water, but there has to be more to it The different species of big fish include Carp to 35lb, Tench over 14lb, Bream over 12lb, Chub over 8lb, Eels over 7lb, Roach over 2lb and Perch over 4lb! Maybe, the angler on an evening ticket simply float fishing corn in the margins for tench at last light, using 4lb line to a size 10 hook, the float dips and slides away - twenty minutes later his target tench appears in the form of a 27lb common - pure magic! Maybe, feeder fishing for a haul of roach - blood red fins - many never having seen a hook before. Maybe , anglers on a 24hr ticked targeting the bream reporting twenty plus slabs up to 12lb, Maybe.

What ever it is, the pure magic of just being on Bluebell Lake lures anglers back again and again. Probably not knowing just what you will catch , or how big that fish is - is enough reason to fish Bluebell Lake.

KINGFISHER LAKE
After 14 years the crown of the big fish water sits nicely with Kingfisher Lake. Now firmly established on the big fish circuit Kingfisher Lake has over the years produced some stunning carp, and continues to do so. It is our firm intention that this reputation for big fish does not slip and some form of stock management must be in place to acheive this end. Simply leaving nature to take its course will not succeed. which is why the removal of
smaller fish from Kingfisher will always continue.
It is hoped that that one day Kingfisher will hold nothing but a head of carp over 30lb, and we are trying to acheive just that. With design Kingfisher Lake can acheive a cult status - and any visiting angler can achieve personal best catches or the fish of a lifetime. A Lake where patience and persistance can be rewarded, not for the faint hearted perhaps, but just being on Kingfisher sharpens your senses, magnifies your anticitpation. What if!!

MALLARD
Mallard Lake will not only be a new venue for Bluebell Lakes - it will also add a whole different dimension to our fishery. We are renown for captures of big fish of all species from our water and no doubt the Mallard will produce some big fish. The foremost difference with Mallard Lake will be the stocking levels, carried out over the last three years, with the aim to create a runs water.

Covering over twenty acres of water in excess of sixty pegs, Mallard will produce some positive catching action - in a beautiful and tranquil setting - as you would expect from this fishery.

The existing low carp stock include fish to 30lb plus. Carp stocked in 2003/2004 are
now 20lb. add to this over 1000 double figure carp - and we hope we have acheived a runs water.

Day tickets will be available in the same format as Bluebell and Sandmartin Lake, with day tickets, 24hr, 36hr etc and week tickets available.
