In these busy times it is difficult to spend quality time with your family and also fit in a good carp session. At Creuse Carp you can do both. We have two runs lakes (1 & 2 acres)with carp to mid thirties next to the family-sized gite and a challenging 10 acre lake with carp in excess of 40lbs. The non-angling members of the family will love the animals on our estate, ranging from cuddly rabbits to adorable alpacas and loveable llamas. The angling member will love our healthy and hard fighting carp stock.

LAKES
Our carp lakes have a natural pH of 7 and are rich in fauna and flora for the carp to eat. The lake was emptied of nuisance species in 2005 so there are few false alarms when you are fishing. There are no poisson chat and the large Silure keeps the crayfish down. The lake is stocked with successive plantings of Royale carp and about 150 prime fish have been added so far. The lower end of the weight scale is around 15 lbs and the upper end is in excess of 40lbs, plenty of high 30's are waiting for you.

FISH STOCK
Our gite and lakes are set in 75 acres of calm Creuse countryside, accessed only by a private lane. The main lake is over 40 years old and set in a natural bowl in the valley and fringed by trees. The lake has a stony bed with silt lines following the two streams which feed it. The lake was emptied in 2005 and restocked with a range of fast growing Royale hybrids from 3 to 20 Kg, additional plantings of Amur and Royales were made as the lake demonstrated its capacity to grow on these fine specimens.

FACILITIES
The gite is a restored 18thC labourors cottage packed with history and features oak beams, restored fireplace with wood burner and the original bread oven. Accommodation is large lounge, bathroom/utility and modern kitchen/dining room. Upstairs are two double rooms with ensuite WC and two twin rooms. The area is cris crossed by quiet country roads and green lanes, ideal for walking or cycling yet is well served by tourist attractions. You will be looked after by a french speaking english family who live on site and who can help out with problems or bookings.
