Many of the baits and groundbaits sold in the UK have been developed and refined from a limited number of templates. Many share similar characteristics and, sometimes, the same ingredients. This can prove to be a problem when they are used because - especially on pressurised venues such as fisheries - fish learn to associate their characteristics with danger. This can be a smell, a taste, a colour or a consistency, but the outcome is the same - fish will avoid or ignore these baits.

Special Formula Additives

Nori Boilies

Kani
Most boilies currently on the market have less than 9 main ingredients; Kani boilies have 13 main ingredients, many exclusive to Marukyu.These Marine and Crab floavoured baits contain specific Amino Acids to attract all cyprinids - but the emphasis is on larger species.An all temperature formulated boilie but has faster flavour releases at higher temperatures.

Similar to Ichigo but a combination of ingredients that UK fish have definitely not seen before! The oriental fruit flavoured bait has proved to be exceptionally good on well-stocked waters where the fish have seen everything.

Scientiifically Developed Pellets
The Marukyu scientists have worked out that the best pellets for catching fish is to make them using the 'Dry Pellet' method.Almost all Aquaculture pellets that are made for feeding fish are made by the Extrusion method that involves a heating process.Marukyu scientists believe that a cold and 'Dry Pellet' has many advantages. The speed of releasing the attractants is very important along with breakdown speed; our pellets are extremely fast working.Size for size they are heavier which gives them distinct advantages.An important point to remember is: What is good for aquaculture is not necessarily good for fishing!

Angler Friendly Paste
Marukyu GLUTEN pastes have simple to understand mixing instructions on the back of the package. For best results mix until the water has spread evenly throughout the bait and there are no dry patches left. Try to limit the amount of time mixing the bait to the bare minimum. Once the water is spread evenly, let the bait sit for 3-4 minutes. Then just before use flip it over and take bait from the side that was on the bottom.
